Product Overview
Effective power management for military vehicles is critical in war-fighting operations as power-hungry electronic systems are increasingly required to accomplish missions.
Compounding the need is traditional mechanical auxiliary subsystems whose uncoordinated and continuous operations are inherently inefficient.
Horstman has developed power management units as part of our activities on active uprated suspension 4×4 on 4×4 and 8×8 vehicle platforms.
These integrate in-vehicle platforms and support the power requirements and management in a coordinated way.

Active suspension power regeneration | Active suspension produce energy when going over rough terrain which is fed to the vehicle DC bus or batteries |
High voltage ultra-capacitor ban | Stores regenerated energy produce by active suspension Provide power under silent mode operation Support on board power system during high energy peak demand Power-up start-up sequencing |
DC/DC power : step-down | High efficiency converter Meet EMI/EMC requirements if MIL-STD-661 and MIL-std-810 |
DC/DC converter: step-up | Convert low voltage DC bus (9vDC to 36 VDC) to a 600 VDC bus Bi-directional converter : recover energy to the vehicle battery |
