12 Month Placement - Digital Student Software Developer
Basic Function
The Student Software Developer will be required to develop software in support of improving digitisation and analysis within the organisation. These activities will include creating, updating, testing and implementing various types of software.
Reporting Relationship
The Student Software Developer will report to the Head of Digital and Analytics.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- In some cases you will be required to create software from scratch in order to meet the needs of the business.
- Create test plans and execute them.
- Create documentation to back up any changes or implementations
- Learn existing software and methods and continuously look for areas for improvement.
- Make changes / improvements to existing software should the need arise.
- Coordinate deployment with stakeholders and gather feedback for future improvements.
- Assist with modifying the current ERP system where required.
- Assist with an upgrade to the ERP system.
- Track programming changes using version control software.
- Undertake other additional duties that may be required from time to time as determined by the company and/or your Line Manager.
Knowledge & Ability Required
- The ability to create new or modify existing applications.
- Need to be able to read and write C# & Python code.
- Some knowledge of Visual Basic (VB.NET & VBA).
- Have a good level of knowledge regarding databases, relational, analytical, etc.
- Some knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server including SSRS and SSIS.
- Must be able to use all Microsoft Office applications.
The post holder will desirably have, or will be able to develop:
- Some knowledge of what an ERP system is and does.
- Some knowledge of BI and report building.

Candidate will need to be able to start in July 2026.
